EveryOne Counts Traffic Safety Summit, February 10, 2009 in Phoenix, AZ
Arizona's law enforcement personnel, traffic safety engineers, emergency responders and various other traffic safety advocates gathered at the Desert Willow Conference Center to discuss various aspects of traffic safety in Arizona. A keynote address was delivered at the safety summit by former NHTSA administrator Nicole Nason. Region 9 NHTSA administrator David Manning presented the 2009 GTSAC Emphasis Area Champion Awards.

GTSAC Legislative Safety Event at the State of Arizona Capitol Complex, January 16, 2008 in Phoenix, AZ
Governor's Traffic Safety Advisory Council (GTSAC) safety event is an opportunity to educate the legislators, media, and general public about transportation safety issues that affect Arizona. The 2008 theme "Every 1 Counts" emphasized the Council's vision of zero fatalities from motor vehicle crashes.

GTSAC Legislative Safety Summit at the State of Arizona Capitol Complex, January 14, 2009 in Phoenix, AZ
One thousand and sixty-six white chairs, representing the number of people killed in traffic-related fatalities on Arizona roadways in 2007, were displayed at the State Capitol Complex as part of the GTSAC Legislative Safety Summit. The luncheon featured remarks by various officials including the City of Williams Police Sergeant. The Phoenix Fire Department conducted a demonstration of how crews respond to a traffic crash that requires victims to be extricated from vehicles.
